How Do I Restore Cedar Wood Cladding

cedar Wood Which Has Been Soft Washed

19th August 2022 General

How Do I Restore Cedar Wood Cladding is a great question and one we get asked a lot here at Purple Rhino.

Untreated cedar wood cladding can end up looking quite shabby in the eyes of homeowners.

After a few short years and the weather conditions cedar wood will need some attention.

You can do it yourself or ask a professional company to do it for you.

When you carefully soft wash the wood using a soft wash mix, you will get excellent results.

Soft Washing uses three main ingredients, water, sodium hypochlorite and wood wash.

When combined and mixed correctly, the softwash treatment makes cedar wood look wonderful.

Using a 100 litre softwash mix will use 89 litres of water, 10 litres of sodium hypochlorite and 1 litre of wood wash.

Carefully spray onto the cedar wood evenly.

DO NOT ALLOW TO DRY

Dwell time of ten to fifteen minutes depending on how dirty the cedar wood cladding is.

Carefully and with a soft brush, brush with the grain to agitate the wood.

Rinse off the softwash mix entirely from your wooden cladding.

To get a really nice finish to the look, apply restore which will bring out the natural beauty of the grain in the wood.

So now you know the answer to how do I restore cedar wood cladding.

You have to ask yourself, do I do it myself or call in a soft washing expert.

Cedar wood cladding can be cleaned on homes, apartment and office buildings. When working at height please make sure you use the appropriate equipment such as scaffolding or elevated work platforms to avoid serious injury.
