How Do I Restore Faded Powder Coated Window Frames?

A great question asked by many is how do I restore faded powder coated window frames.

Many commercial property tenants have been served with a dilapidation order which asks you to replace or restore the faded aluminium window frames.

When you need to restore your aluminium window frame RAL colours back to its original finish, you should find a professional company to do the work for you.

Because the best way to restore the faded powder coated window frames is to first remove the UV damaged top layer, by hand method. There simply is no other way of achieving the attention to detail you are going to need.

You will need non abrasive pads and a specialist colour restoring crème to carefully remove the white powdery top surface. Slowly and evenly is the way to go with this. A little bit like Daniel Son in the Karate Kid movies, wax on, wax off in circular motions!

Once you have removed the damaged top layer, you will need to remove any excess crème which will leave the framework dry and clear from any pollution.

It is very important that you then apply a hydrophobic coating which will prevent further UV damage from occurring.

As a result the original colour will return straight away and the frames will look as good as new.

Powder Coated Window Frame Restoration

Why have the frames become faded and looked washed out?

UV sun damage combined with harsh window cleaning methods are the cause of fading to these type of window frames. This can be prevented by applying hydrophobic coatings periodically throughout the lifespan of the window frames and keeping them shiny and new looking always.
