What happens if problems are found on my roof before soft washing?

Safe Roof Cleaners Use MEWPS

18th October 2021 General

It is not uncommon for roofs to have existing problems; the older the roof, the more likely this is. Common problems found include slipped, broken, or missing tiles and damage to gutters.

A thorough visual inspection should be undertaken, taking photos of any problems found before soft washing. Once identified and photographed, such issues should be brought to the homeowner’s attention, giving them the best information possible upon which to make informed decisions regarding the cleaning of the roof.

As a rule, soft wash cleaning companies are specialists in their field and do not undertake roof repairs, however, it is not uncommon to rectify simple issues such as a disconnected gutter or a slipped tile. Some specialist roof cleaning companies have trained roofers among their staff and may be able to undertake larger repairs within the cleaning project upon agreement with the customer.

More serious roof damage or wear should always be referred to a competent professional roofing company for their expertise and input.

  • Excellent Service – Minimal Disruption – Would Use For Render Cleaning Again

    Worthing Hospital Hospital Manager
    Worthing Hospital, Worthing

  • We would confirm Purple Rhino undertook the cleaning of ten large internal courtyard areas at the above hospital. As may be expected with hospital work complications did arise particularly from The Trust who had concerns with regards to patients in individual wards all of which were adjacent to the working areas. Not withstanding these problems Purple Rhino worked quickly and diligently with all parties so as to mitigate the issues and were able to complete in a timely and expeditious manner. All parties, including The Trust, were most appreciative with the quality of the completed works. In view of these experiences with Purple Rhino, we would not hesitate to recommend them for any future works relating to cleaning facades.
