Render cleaning to white K Rend Render

Southdown house has a mixture of private owners and housing association tenants.

Our first meeting was in 2013 where we assessed the problems of the staining on the render.

After many meetings and section 20s – in the early part of 2016 the render cleaning project was finally authorised.

Requirement

Colonies of moulds, algaes and cyanobacterias were found spreading all over the once white render. Caused by many years of neglect, with no thought or plan put in place to maintain this once lovely looking apartment complex.

Warmer wetter English weather in Brighton, close to the seafront made the render an ideal breeding ground and home for all types of organic matter to settle. The building looked ugly and many million pound properties would not sell due to the outside look.

Solution

Softwashing was the perfect solution to safely remove all the different types of plant life found growing on the rendered surfaces. The organic matter had turned black, dark green and even red in places. Once the infestation was treated, Purple Rhino brought in its fleet of Doff Steam cleaners to ensure a 100% kill ratio was achieved.
The building when sanitised cleaned looks stunning, even better than when it was new.
