This beautiful detached home which is located in Ashford, Kent required roof and exterior cleaning.

Mosses, lichens and moulds had taken over the entire roof and walls.

Bricks as well as roof tiles had become dark in colour because of excessive mould growth, which had been allowed to colonise the home over many years.

To clean the entire exterior surface including roof and walls of the house safely.

Mosses had darkened the roof tiles which were causing them to become hot during warmer sunnier months, making the house too warm on the inside.

The home owner wanted the home to look similar when they first moved in.

Solution

Soft Washing

Pressure washing was instantly dismissed because of the roof tile type. High pressure could cause damage and water ingress.

Soft Washing was chosen because it gives longer lasting instant results when compared to pressure washing and biocide treatments

The Soft Wash mixture is applied to all surfaces to ensure the infestation is killed at the root.

Final Wash is applied to safely neutralise the chemicals used, and provides UV protection with its hydrophobic properties.

Plant Wash is used to feed the grass, plants and shrubbery to ensure the aerobic bacteria in the roots stays healthy.

The clean roof will reflect the suns rays better compared to when it was covered in dark moulds, resulting in a cooler home during those hot summer months.
